Thazara is the first toon I ever played past level 2 (I made a similar cleric on Sarlona, played her to 2, then abandoned her). She is still first life, as I decided already 2 years ago that I was never going to TR her. I left the possibility open that I might some day TR her, but I still haven’t. Early spring 2012 I did a greater reincarnation and turned her into a caster focused cleric with melee fallback. When U19 was released, I realized I had to LR her just for her scimitar proficiency. As some of you know, I had a bit of a misunderstanding with a long timer player some week ago. I was a bit upset over it, feeling very confused and angry. But we talked, we talked for about 2 hours and in the end he said that he wants to help me. We talked a bit about Thaz, and he suggested I’d use the +20 heart of wood and turn her into a favored soul, because he thought I’d like the fvs better due to my playstyle as an offensive caster. I don’t want to do that, so he gave me some suggestions as how to improve her as she is.
I have decided I want to LR her, get rid of the melee fallback and turn her pure evoker. Healer and evoker. Here’s an LR build plan I threw together:

Previously I have put all skill points in concentration, balance and jump. This time around I’m adding points in concentration, spell craft and heal, while passing completely on balance and jump. Hopefully she’ll be a much stronger caster, while not hurting herself too much with the lower strength, balance and jump.
Thank you for reading and have a wonderful day.
P.S. If you tell me to TR, STFU 😀
Hi Micki 🙂 I woud drop con to 14 and add points into int for skill points or cha for turns, 16 con is very very costy on elf (6 build points!) and its like 30 hp at lvl 28
Oh and epic toughness is not as good on caster, as cleric your sp pool is low so maybe mental tugness there (if you plan to be shiradi mental tougness is awsome it add also crit % to all spells now)
Ok, see, I took con to 16 to get epic toughness as suggested to me. U’re suggesting to skip epic toughness and put points in int instead?
Well its like 50 hp, that nothing in era of 10 con 50 hp 40 vitality items, 1% crit to all spells, more spell power etc is always better (imo)
Also you must decide if you want to be shiradi caster or dc caster they differ, feats and twist for them also differ a lot 🙂
explain?
Yeh 16 con is pretty costly, like i said other day, since the change i like more int for skills 🙂
I also havent taken toughness since U19 but im sure whatever you decide you will perform well 😀
🙂 have played an elf lately?
Ok so if you want to be shiradi and spam blade barrier, holy smite, ray etc, you want high sp pool/hp pool and relay on spellpower and proc dmg. In that case you want: all possibe mental tougness (% to crit), and as epic feat spell power force. You want skill points to max: Perform, heal, spellcraft etc
As tiwsts you want energy burst, endless faith and brace of impact
If you want to be dc caster you must push spell dc/spell pen to max. In that case you want all evo dc fetas, at least 1 spell pen feat, epic wisdom. As tiwists: evocation mastery from magister, piercing spellcasting from draconic and +1 wis from primal, some way to push necro dc for destruction. Also for sure +10 wis item +3 ins, +1 exp and all wis from enchantment you can get
Im a 1st life cleric there’s no way I’ll hit dc numbers or spell penn for ee. Does perform still exist, as it didnt on the planner? So, what numbers would you do? And are u saying evo spell focus is pointless?
and remember, Ill still need all the wisdom I can get, as it doesnt only add to spell dc, but to sp pool as well
oh, and one more thing. I need a build that’s got a solid base and will work even in U21… as I dont TR and dont make any major changes too often.
Yeah as 1st life you better stick to shiradi (or angel for healboting but ik you dont like that :P) So i propose start 18 wis, 14 con, than split rest between cha and int, put 1 point into perform (its there) max heal, spellcraft, concentration, take whole mental toghness line, epic mental, all lvl ups in wis ofc, as epic feat +1 wis, spell power force and elusive target, twist endless faith for even more sp and good sp regen, energy burst fire (warpriest add fire spellpower), and brace of impact
fire is useless as I dont use fire spells. I spam nimbus, searing light and divine punishment. Then blade barrier, comet fall, occasional destruction, energy drain, implosion. Currently I can kill stuff in eH with implosion, ee only if neg levelled enough. And my forced escape kills everything im eN, hurts in eH, does a bit in ee.
Must remember as a cleric I have more spells, but lower spell penn? But also I use less mana than an fvs, as I use aura and bursts for heals, and spam cheap spells.
oh, and for healbotting Id still go US, not Angel. Why? Cause when I need to healbot, I usually need to survive better as well (like ee fot)
I woud not say drop normal toughness just epic one, and yes it all depends on playstyle, for skills caster need a lot of them now: spellcraft, perform, heal at lest, than concantration and balance and umd
base skills for a cleirc with 8 int is 1, 2 for 10, 3 for 12, 4 for 14. I want to max concentration, since I use a lot of scrolls (I think most used was like 40 res scrolls in citw) so, if I put my 6 point in int, Ill get 4 skill points per level until level 7 when Ill have 5, and at lvl 15 Ill have 6. Spell craft, concentration, heal are class skills, perform and balance are not.
16 con and epic toughness will give me +1 to hp multiplyer +50 hp, so that’s 78hp more
building one in char planner at will post in min 🙂
Ok so lets get goals first:
– 1st life cleric
– Full heal ability in ee content
– Good saves/survival skill in ee content
– Ability to get some dmg as addition to heals
I have that already, what I want now is more dps
Ok, I’ve been going over this in my head. Wey is trying to be helpful, but he’s failing to look at what I want, and is suggesting things from his way of playing. So, I’m having to seriously filter what he’s saying.
Ok, so down to it, 16 con and epic toughness = +78 hp, same skill points as current build. 14 int and mental toughness = +105sp, +1 crit chance on spells and +2 skill points (and many more on creation). I am having a bit of a problem deciding. Currently Thaz has I believe 720hp and just over 2600sp in Shiradi. 42 wisdom and ~40 bb dc. I kind of feel she’d benefit more from epic toughness, but with buffs etc, she gets her hp a bit higher anyway. To get down to it, I was looking forward to a bit more hp, sp management has never been an issue for me, but I’ve always been lower on hp than other classes. But if the more skillpoints and crit chance would make her a better caster I can live without the hp. Then again, if it makes her squishier, I’d rather have the hp. For healbotting ee raids, the hp would benefit me more.
Looks like a solid build to me, but I have never been one to crunch the numbers to the max. I hope the build works for you and I hope you enjoy it!! 🙂
🙂 ty. I went with the do over build (next post) though. Instead of putting 6 points in con to get 14–>16, I put 4 in int, 2 in cha, and took mental toughness.
Thaz might not be the best cleric ever, and tbh, end game divine casters are usually fvs. But, just because no one really plays them, doesnt mean it cant work for me. Ive been playing this toon for a good while and we’ve grown together 🙂
