During questing last night this is what Maidae saw when stepping into Eveningstar.
Monday was Cannith night and Tuesday swim practice, so I didn’t get a chance to log on my home server til Tuesday night. Not only had the static group already done both the quest and one of the raids, they were ip running the other. So, I hopped into wilderness to have a look around, and after the group finished their run, one of them joined me to show me the rares I need to kill to flag for the raids. I spent about 1.5h running around wilderness, found my way to both the raids and about 14 journals, before I felt too tired, and logged.
On Wednesday I’m at my computer a bit after schedule.. only to learn that the servers are down for an emergency hot fix. Meh. Lucky for me, I got the time wrong and the servers were back up 30 min later. The static group was gonna take on the dracolich and I joined to have my first view of the raid. It got a bit boring when 2 ppl were doing the puzzles while the rest were killing trash, but finally we got to the dracolich, and what a magnificent beast she is. I wasn’t quite sure what we were supposed to do, but killing + kiting trash and raising ppl is a good a job as any. In the end the lag monster beat us, and the gm’s was not helpful.
Time to do another weekend post. 🙂 I was busy busy this weekend. The plan was to run raids on Thazara and Cerge on Saturday and then flag Cerge for CitW on Sunday. I decided to save VoN on Thaz, so she’s not on timer on Monday, but wanted to run ADQ and FoT.
Shroud elite (Thazara)
I logged around 8 pm on Saturday and saw a group for elite shroud up. I think they were only 5 people, and no healer. So, I decided to join on Thaz, sat there chit-chatting for a while, then spammed the channels telling ppl to come join. Didn’t take that long and we had a full party. 🙂 Group was high level with lots of dps, so we 1 rounded p4, had some deaths in p5, prolly cause I got distracted by a tell or channel or something and wasn’t healing (note, I wasn’t the only healer, we had a clonk? too).
FoT hard (Thazara)
Now I can’t remember the order of things, but I think I posted for FoT after Shroud. “eh. main/ best ed. Know it pls”. Again spamming channels. 🙂 Well, I call it spam, but I copy the same line/ word into the channels I use, e.g. “Fot?”. With U19 things have changed, but also before this it was getting harder to get good groups for FoT and CitW. The active raiders already have everything, and with U19 the raid loot isn’t even that good anymore. Anywho, I thought I had a good group, even 2 ppl who said they can do SR tank, and 2 ppl saying they can kite. So, person who wanted SR tank got to do that, and I put other guy on TO, left first person to say they can kite do that, and put our very own shuriken monk on TO kiting duty when he first drops. As we drop down things didn’t go so well, ppl were taking damage, we were not doing enough dps, and as I was doing role of trying to control the situation, I didn’t pay attention to my hp and died. Rest of the group kept things together and we got stuff done, even if it was a bit messier than I’d have liked. We take down crystal, SR tank is ready and we’re working on TO. He’s hopping around a bit, but we’re ok. I keep watching SR tank’s hp, nervously, and as expected, he goes down. Since I was ready for it, I run over and grab SR’s aggro, and tell other guy to take over. I wait for first guy’s timer to expire and raise him, and the other guy dies. So I decide to just stay and heal SR tank. Things are a bit of a mess, at some point SR runs off, and someone shoots one of the undead dragons and aggros him on the SR. We get both TO and SR prepped, and I call kill and it looks like we’re about to fail, but we manage to take SR out at the last few seconds. 🙂 I said afterwards, that that was a bit more work than I would have liked, but we got it done. Also, I said “a lot of noobish behavior in that run”. This shooting stuff that u’re not supposed to be shooting and pulling aggro is the type of behavior that will make me not let you into my runs.
I finally got a chance to try out the new quests and wildernesses this weekend, with running the Storms Horns on Sat-Sun and Wheloon Prison Sunday. On Saturday I started off by looking for the messages in The Storms Horns, I put up an lfm and got some people to help me out. The scaling in the wilderness is very noticeable, with only as many mobs as I could handle when running solo, while I was quickly overwhelmed by the amount (and I guess their hp, but I didn’t notice that as much) when running with a full group. I think I spent about 2.5h in wilderness, and after finding the 45th message, I left group and lfm’d for the chain on eh. Don’t want to run it on ee first time through. I started the first quests as a duo with a friend, we were joined half way through by another guy and before the end we were a full group. The quests themselves were fine.. until we started lagging. In the 2nd or 3rd quest we started lagging so badly that we had to wait it out to be able to continue. We fought through it, but once we got to the last quest in the chain the lag hits us again, and after fighting for more than half an hour, wiping twice we gave up.
After only 3-4 h sleep the night before, and working a long day, I was kind of tired and a bit testy during our game night. I took offence to ppl saying that our group is low on hp (well u do better on a 1st toon on a server with no gear or pls, and Ker is even only a 28p build). I thought Ker was doing just fine, I’ve seen worse. At level 20 she was ~380hp unbuffed, and that is with only con+6 and +20 false life. I can easily get that higher once I get some gear. But we only run a few hours once a week, so we’re not exactly gear farming.
Anywho, plan for the night was to run first Eveningstar chain, and we decided to lfm for help so we could run on eH. I think we would have been just fine the 3 of us with hirelings too. Our toons are very much underdogs, but I was pretty pleased when my level 20 clonk with almost no gear managed to insta kills a few mobs with destruction and implosion in a level 22 quest. 🙂 Now, that impresses me a lot more than loads of hp.
Anywho, here’s the pictures from the night.
So, as some of u know, my plan with Thazara has been to do everything, and collect all the favor possible, level all the ED’s. This week I’ve had my winter vacation from work and have been running some earler in the day.
The other day when I logged on, Cleazy was busy running Evenigstar first chain (I think) on epic elite, so I lfm’d for the High Road epic elite, starting with A stay at the inn. My friend Violater joined, an then the ranger Melayde. 🙂 As we were waiting, Vi suggested we try trio it, and I was up for that. So, the first part of the quest we trio’d on EE, with Thaz meleing (Thazara is still a caster specced cleric). 😛 Later on we were joined by some more ppl and we continued with the other quests in the chain.
I’m feeling really tired when writing this post, so I apologize in advance if it’s … what ever it turns out to be. 🙂 I’ve had a stressful week at work. Been working 12 h days, only take breaks for lunch, bathroom and to get more coffee. Been trying to get a project finished that’s on deadline, but on friday I gave up at 8pm… was tired and knew I’d be there all night and not get it finished. Wanted to get home to the degus and DDO.
I slept well for about 8h, then did a bunch of household chores (laundry, dishes. grocery shopping and cleaning), let out degus and played DDR the hottest party 2 on wii before logging on to DDO. Here’s my Saturday runs:
After going to bed at 7am, I woke up at 2.30pm and logged back into DDO. Found Cleazy on, but as he’s on -10h from me, and he had plans later in the day he was just going to bed. I checked the lfm but there was nothing interesting on, so I decided it was time to clear my last MotU maps: King’s Forest, Sschindylryn, and Underdark. I brought Andaro with me and headed over to King’s Forest. I realised I was only missing 5 messages, so used wiki to locate them and found them rather easily. I was also at 1.3k kills, and was considering working on getting it to 1.5k, but soloing I wasn’t getting enough spawns, so I gave up quickly and headed over to Sschindylryn, where I was only missing 2 messages. These I found quite easily, even though I had to fight a bunch of mobs to get there.
Note: marathon, means marathon. This is going to be long. lol
Friday was a night off from DDO for me, due to work xmas party (yes, kind of early, I know). Saturday I did a bit of household chores, then logged on to DDO at 7pm, which is a lot earlier than I usually play on Saturdays. Plan was to play til early Sunday morning. 🙂
So, I logged on and checked the lfm. Nothing good on. Alright, so I was missing some mats (four) for the gs scimitar I was going to make for Thaz, and they all drop in Let the sleeping dust lie, so headed over there to do a quick normal. On the way there I saw an lfm for The Chronoscope epic elite, and sent the leader a tell, that if they need a healer I’ll join once they have a bit more ppl, that I’ll run vale for mats until then. I got a reply a while later asking me how long, and I replied that I’ll drop the quest and join.
This is my late Sunday post. 🙂
On Sundays I usually sleep late and write my Saturday blog while having breakfast, usually in early afternoon. This Sunday I decided to log on to DDO instead to check if Cleazy was on. He was, but was busy getting an eADQ group together. I only have one epic toon, Thazara, and she ran eADQ on Saturday, so no go. I was just hanging around for a while, then saw an lfm for The House of Death Undone, epic elite looking for healer. I sent a tell than I just capped Thaz yest and that I could run.
Sschindylryn Epic Elites
I told the party that I’m unsure about where the quest is, so pls don’t enter before I get there. Found my way fine. Start was a bit messy and I didn’t know that freedom of movement was needed until someone complained “omg. ee and no fom”. I replied “sorry, I didn’t know”. Well, duh, maybe say something before we start, then? Party was ok, we had some deaths, including me, but I think we managed pretty well.
