I was doing some farming runs on Maidae and decided to record a few of the runs. First I was running EE, then I figured I’d try an R1 run and then R2. The R2 did feel a bit tedious, though, so for a solo farming run I think I’d stick to R1 or EE – depending on the quest. Check out the videos below, or visit my youtube channel.
While working on our EDs, Schoan, Valdayanie and Jarvanna have been doing some EEs that we’ve never done before (on those characters). Last Sunday Valdayanie couldn’t make it, so Schoan and Jarvanna did Madstone and Cry for help as a duo. On the dps side we were doing, good, but surviving against the giant skeletons turned out to be a challenge. More than once my piker Evilynnn had to rescue us, but throwing raises from a safe distance.

Someone had asked if I was planning to do more videos running Thazara, so I decided to record Thaz running the new Ravenloft quests. I flagged Thaz on R1 with Doobrey, as for these videos I solo’d EE for loot. Doobrey told me nothing drops on EH, and since R1 costs me more sp that EE, I decided to do EE. To tell the truth, I was surprised at how easy the quests felt. Thazara is my oldest character that I played past level 2. My very first character was also an elf cleric, but that character has long since been deleted.
Anyway, Thaz is on her first heroic life, has 10 epic past lives and is on her 6th build plan. The current build plan Thazara 1.6, is a light spammer evoker, using sun domain. She uses heavy armor has a bit over 500 light and positive spell power and some force spell power for implosion. I am using a toggle macro for light spamming, I need to turn it off to cast other spells (blade barrier, heals, divine wrath). As seen in some of the videos, I chose to remove arcane pulse from my macro for some of the quests, as it’s the most sp costly spell I currently use in the macro. The other spells/ SLAs cost between 2 and 12 sp. Thaz’s gear is not up to date with the new pack, I am looking at to improve it once I’ve acquired things that fit her gear setup. You can see Thaz’s current gear setup here (scroll down below the build plan).
For you who don’t follow me on twitter or youtube, here’s a short post about the crucible run we did. I eTR’d Thaz some time back, and I’ve been running epic sagas on reaper 2 with Misanthropic, as he’s an instakiller build and it’s been making getting some reaper xp so much easier for me (and of course, I enjoy the company). I post on the lfm as well, and interest has varied. For gianthold, though, we’ve been getting a full party. A few days ago I wanted to do the crucible, and record the run. I wasn’t sure we’d be able to do reaper 2, but as it turns out my worry was in vain.
Yesterday I posted for Detour again, or well first time since the last eTR. The post was for max level 24 for max reaper xp and R2. Even though the post was up and I was hoping for joiners, I had somewhat of a plan for in case I have to solo.
I go in, talk to Bensen, activate the first mobs, then realise I forgot to summon my raiser hireling. I run back to the door to summon him. Bensen apparently kills the mobs, then follows me into the room. Retry, I park the hire at the door and rush onwards to the first mobs. Lots of backwards running and switching between improved precise shot and archer’s focus (ips for groups of mobs, the other for when I had just one). I make it to the gate, jump up on it and take the first short cut. Things are progressing nicely, and when I get to the shrine I jump up on it and shoot from a safe-ish spot (some of the mobs did jump up to me).

The other day I wanted to do a reaper 1 Battle for Eveningstar at level, meaning max level 21. I posted and left the lfm up while I started. I have done this quest EE at level before, but never attempted to solo reaper. I spent most of the time jumping on roofs, trying not to die from the casters, which failed a few times. Luckily my deaths were close enough to a shrine that I didn’t need to use a cake. I parked Albus as a fail safe and at a couple of times parked him near me on a roof so he’d throw me heals, but he turned out to be completely useless for this. Parked he didn’t heal me and he didn’t heal himself either, so he ended up dying. For the end fight I just left him at the shrine.
The quest took me a while as I was clearing most of the trash, but things progressed better than I had expected. I even managed to take out the priestesses without them healing more than once of twice. As for the end fight, it took me a while and when the driers spawned I had to stop attacking the boss to take care of them, but I managed to do this without taking too much damage. I finished the quest in 53 minutes solo, as no one had joined. Hamster offered to join to help me out, but I was at that time more than half-way through the end fight, so told him I was almost done.
Jarvanna hit 30 some weeks ago and now me, Schoan and Valdayanie (or little static group) have been focused on just gaining xp for our EDs. Valdayanie has been unavailable for the last couple of weeks, so it’s been just Jarv and Schoan. I wanted to try some EEs last week and we started with Lords of Dust. I was surprised at how easy it felt compared to expectations… I expected us to do poorly and maybe even fail. We continued with Servants and later Beyond the Rift, skipping Spinner, as I didn’t feel like dying a lot.
It’s already Thursday night and I’m only now doing the blog about last week’s raids. I did upload the pictures days ago, I just haven’t gotten around to writing the actual blog til now.
Saturday I was a bit late, maybe 15 min, and I posted for LE Shroud. I’ve for the time being given up on attempting to do reaper, as most if not all of my regular raiders are TR’ing. Weii joined me, and we waited… about 40 min before I told him “I give up” and posted for hard instead. He wasn’t convinced it would make a difference.. and it didn’t, much. We got 2 or 3 joiners in half an hour, after which I was quite bored with waiting, so I decided to post for TS instead. Reaper 2.
I posted for reaper 1 skull Legendary Shroud at exactly 9 pm (3 pm EST) last Saturday. The party was slowly filling, but at 10 to 10 we were still missing a hurler and I decided that if we don’t get one by 10 pm, I’m going to switch to Darthwolf and let someone else have the last spot, which was saved for the hurler. 10 o’clock came, and I switched. Things were going somewhat ok, quite laggy but was progressing.. until we again failed to take out a portal keeper and failed the raid. So we retried on LE instead.
This post is over a week over due, so I may not remember it all. For week 5 of LE/EE raids, I again ended up running Darthwolf in Shroud. The party filled and I said I’d either like a hurler or a healer, so Durk decided to bring his healer and I brought Darth. The run had quite a few deaths this time, but I didn’t really feel like we struggled that much. We lagged a bit in p1, but it passed.
After Shroud we did a quick LE Tempest’s Spine as well.
