Thazara 1.6

Here’s the build plan for Thazara 1.6. It’s very similar to 1.5, the main differences are: spot instead of perform, Follower of the Blood of Vol instead of Sovereign Host, and two of the evocation feats replaced by mental toughness for  more spell points and crit chance. I also replaced the enhancement for spell power force with universal, as I don’t use force spells a lot.

Thaz eTR 9

Today I epic reincarnated Thazara for the 9th time. Past life chosen: Brace. I mostly used the build plan for Thazara 1.5, but I took spot instead of perform, I took UMD at every level except 19 and I chose Follower of the Blood of Vol. I like this deity as it gives you a feat that for about 2.5 min gives you +4 Constitution, 100% Fortification, +10 to Fortitude Saves, and PRR and MRR equal to the number of Religious Lore feats you have, which is very nice.

Here are Thaz’s before and after pictures:

Before                                                                      After

I am going to do a new build plan for Thaz where I focus slightly more on spell crits than on dcs. That one will be posted soon.

That’s all for this post.
Thank you for stopping by.

Raids week 38

Saturday (yesterday) was week 38 since my relaunch of the EEraids. I was a bit late again, but not as late as last week, and posted for LTS reaper 2. The first people to join were the guild Multiverse Agents, which was nice. 🙂 Interest was semi slow at first, and I wasn’t sure if I had both intelligence and strength before the party filled. What was unusual for this week was that we had a full party before we started, and everyone made it to the front door intact. We had a few (less than usually) deaths in fire and ice, Sorjek reset a couple of times in the end fight, but over all it was a quick and easy run. We finished in 24 minutes. 3 armors dropped, what I could see; docent, medium armor and robe of Celestial Sage.

Raiding with the static group

Schoan, Valdayanie and Jarvanna have not done a whole lot of raids, mostly due to the fact that we don’t really play these characters outside the group and Schoan has had a lot of problems with lag in raids. As we hadn’t done Legendary Shroud together, I suggested I’d post for a normal run, and I did. We quickly got a few joiners, and when I felt we had enough to start,  I suggested we run short man. My character felt terrible in the run, and I brought Evilynnn with me as a piker, which did cause a bit of distraction for me. The raid progressed slowly, but over all it was a good run.

The Battle for Eveningstar reaper

The other day I wanted to do a reaper 1 Battle for Eveningstar at level, meaning max level 21. I posted and left the lfm up while I started. I have done this quest EE at level before, but never attempted to solo reaper. I spent most of the time jumping on roofs, trying not to die from the casters, which failed a few times. Luckily my deaths were close enough to a shrine that I didn’t need to use a cake. I parked Albus as a fail safe and at a couple of times parked him near me on a roof so he’d throw me heals, but he turned out to be completely useless for this. Parked he didn’t heal me and he didn’t heal himself either, so he ended up dying. For the end fight I just left him at the shrine.

The quest took me a while as I was clearing most of the trash, but things progressed better than I had expected. I even managed to take out the priestesses without them healing more than once of twice. As for the end fight, it took me a while and when the driers spawned I had to stop attacking the boss to take care of them, but I managed to do this without taking too much damage. I finished the quest in 53 minutes solo, as no one had joined. Hamster offered to join to help me out, but I was at that time more than half-way through the end fight, so told him I was almost done.

Raids week 37

Raids 37 was last Saturday. I went for a bike ride earlier in the evening, and when I got home I started feeling sick so taking care of the degus took a lot longer than it usually does and I didn’t post for the raids til 4pm EST (10 pm my time). I posted for LE TS, R2 level 30-30, and it took a good long while before we had enough people to start. The raid itself went well, fire & ice was no real issue, and the end fight we did like last week, fought Sorjek from the safe spot to avoid him resetting.

Update 36 is out (some spoilers)

It wasn’t until Sunday that I finally got to run the new quests. Since there was a treasure hunter bonus going on, I figured I’d get as many runs in as possible. On Sunday I did 3 runs of the whole chain on Thazara on R2. The I learned that the wisdom ring I wanted drops in Graveyard shift, so Monday-Wednesday I ran only that one times 3/ day until I finally got my ring. On Thursday I did another full chain run, this time on Maidae.

Here are some of the items that dropped during the runs. (I forgot to screenshot armor, doubleshot belt, charisma cloak, staff, etc…)

Raids week 36

U36 was out last week and for the weekend there was a treasure hunter bonus. I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to fill my raids since people were running the new quests, and I wanted to do a higher difficulty than usually, both in TS and RSO. Turns out that filling the group wasn’t the biggest issue. We went in on reaper 3 skulls, and things were progressing fine until we got to Sorjek. Yes, we struggled a bit in fire & ice, but not much more than we usually do on R2. We get to the end fight, I do the left side of the puzzle like I usually do and put the rune in. I tell my party to keep Sorjek at the safe spot and we star working on his hp. Ding! Ding! Ding! Sorjek turns towards the pillar to his left – and resets. Disappointed we start over on his hp. A few minutes later same thing, someone dies and Sorjek resets. We try a few different tactics, even kiting him away from the pillars, but every once in a while when someone dies or is dead, he resets. After almost an hour in there on R3, I realise we’re not going to be able to do it and suggest we try on R2 instead.

One by one they leave

Thazara has been in a total of 5 guilds during her existence. Hopefully Phoenix Clan is the last. The funny thing is that if I look at the guilds on DDO Oracle Wayback machine, there is no mention of Legends of Orien, where she was before she met Cleazy. I first started playing DDO with a colleague of mine, and he told me to join the guild he was in. I’m guessing that was Demon Knights, mentioned on Wayback. The guild died out pretty quickly, no one maintained it, no one logged on, and eventually the ship buffs expired. I left and joined Legends of Orien, where I was until some time in the late 2012 when I joined Disorderly Conduct.

Summer of 2013 I joined Gimpfest with all of my toons, which only lasted about 6 weeks. I was guildless for a while, even created my own, before joining Osi’s guild Gli Egypt. I really enjoyed Gli, it was a small guild with mostly European members, most of them online during my hours, and even though we did’t play much together, it was nice to have someone to talk to. Then Osi quit and I got the lead of the guild. We decided to rename the guild to Phoenix Clan. Osi came back a year later, got lead back, then left again. In Osi’s absence I have been trying to keep the guild active, been trying to recruit more members, and even offered to host guild raids.

Some members only stayed for a short amount of time, others longer. Of the people I invited, or brought in, Miri was the first one to leave in October 2015. He was one of the officers. Then Kottil, the longest time member after Osi left some months back, and dropped us a whole level. Osi came back for the third time and brought with him a friend, so the guild is not quite dead yet.. and we do have a few newer recruits that still play actively. Yesterday Jedli left to join a friend of his in another guild. Urgan is taking a short break from the game due to rl stuff.

Anyway, one by one they leave. I feel like, if people don’t want to help me recruit the kind of people they want to run with, then there really isn’t anything I can do. I don’t have time to host guild activities, especially if people are doing their own thing anyway. I do the EEraids, and of course anyone is welcome to join, guildies and non. I don’t really care anymore about what guild we’re in, as I don’t do guild runs anyway. I did do a titan raid with just guildies and that was fun, but I tried to make it a regular thing and that didn’t happen.

Phoenix Clan is my guild and I’m gonna stay, even if everyone else leaves. Hopefully I can recruit a few more people in my timezone, though.

Anyway, that’s all for now. Ty for stopping by.

Thaz’s 100th ADQ raid

Thazara is my one character that will never TR. Thazara was born on the first week of August 2011, and my goal has been to make her as strong as I can with gear, build adjustment and the last few years epic reincarnation. This means, that Thaz’s list of raid completions has never reset. Of course, I don’t raid all that much, especially not of late, and raids like ADQ really don’t offer anything anymore.. but I still wanted to finish getting to 100. Here are some screenshots from Thaz’s 100th.

We faught Lailat in The Court of Lailat (the pre-raid).
