I was telling Darth that I wouldn’t mind having a second monitor, especially since I enjoy multiboxing in ddo, and my one 24 inch monitor felt a bit small for running multiple clients at the same time. Darth suggested I get two new monitors so he could get my old one (my Acer S240HL 24 inch monitor), as he wanted a second HD monitor. I had decided to do so, I was going to get two new 24 inch monitors and he would get my old one.
We were an an IT exhibition a week ago and I saw this Samsung curved monitor that I thought looked really cool. On the way home from the exhibition I decided to do a quick google for prices on curved monitors and I found a Samsung curved monitor (S27E510C), 27 inch for about 2400 SEK… and clicking on the link they offered it as once returned for 1990 SEK… I mean that is less than what the 24 inch one would have cost me in Sweden. I decided to order two.
I got my monitors and it still feels a bit weird, and they’re a bit higher up than my old one, which may turn out to be a problem. But so far I’m quite excited about them. Have a look at the pictures:
I was reading on the forums as well as hearing from people in game that lag had been worse since ddo’s data centre move. It would seem that something is not quite right at the moment. I was told that Defiler is pretty much incompletable, and that Legendary Shroud takes about 50% as long as it used to. HoX and TS should be fine, while VoN and MoD would be a bit choppy, but still playable. I decided to give the VON raid a try on EE.
I started solo and was not really having any issues with lag. But as ppl started joining, we started getting momentary freezes and slow downs. I was doing the voice and ring and I ended up in lava when I was jumping across the bridge. I jumped over just fine, and suddenly I was in the lava. Much later on as we were heading south, I again found myself in lava after doing a jump. Yet, it wasn’t unplayable, just annoying. The end boss fight was quite laggy, with freeze ups over and over.
We get to VON6 and split up to do the djinn. We were only two at air and I ended up dying because my heals were just not going off. Then we had to do the pillars a total of 3 times because of lag. Get to dragon fight and I again ended up dying because my heals weren’t taking. Yet, we finished in a good amount of time.
What can I say, we managed to complete, but I can’t claim I was having fun. If this is what we can expect of the raids at the moment, I will just have to stay away from the raids until this issue has been solved.
When U30 came out with the new festival event, and Turbine decided to also activate a few other events at the same time, I figured there was no point in trying to raid. Instead I’ve mainly been doing the new festival event a couple of times a day for the last few weeks. Or since a few days ago, as I got tired of it and decided I was done. I was soloing level 35 on Thaz and had a couple of multiboxers in the party piking at the entrance. On Thursday I did a couple of runs with Schoan and Valdaynie. Check out some screenies below.
Thaz was clicking on The Oracle of Wisdom, and he said…
Anyone reading my twitter might have stumbled across the tweets of mine where I said me and darth were getting married. Now, before you start cheering and wishing us all the best and what ever people usually say, let me start by telling you a few things. I didn’t want to get married. I love my darth, but I wanted him to be my life partner, not my husband. Why? Because I want to live my life the way I decide, not the way society or religion tells me. The only reason we decided to get married was because of the issues we were having with getting darth registered as living here.
I had no idea how difficult it was going to be when he moved in. We though all we needed to do was to sign and send in some papers. But no. Everything fell on the the lack of the right form. The tax agency that handles person registrations required darth to have an S1 form from Croatia, a form that Croatia does not give out at all. Telling them this was like talking to a wall. Have the form or no registration. And no registration means no job, no health care, no ID, no nothing.
After 6 months of fighting with this, and them telling us that marriage would solve everything, I gave in. Of course, it wasn’t like we hadn’t discussed it.. I said that if we were to get married, I wanted a simple civil marriage and a dinner with family and friends. I wanted no white dress, no cake and no rings. Lucky for me, darth seemed to be fully on board with the lack of wedding stuff, he even claimed he could have skipped the dinner.
Anyway, we had fun, a nice time and now we’re legally married. Now just waiting for the marriage to be registered in the person registry in Sweden as well.
I just learned today that the spell focus on the Leathers of the Celestial Sage does not work, at least not for evocation. Short tested it and said it works for necromancy, transmutation and illusion, but not for evocation or conjuration. This post on the forums also mentions this bug, and says that it was already noticed on Lamannia.
I spent weeks farming for this armor for Thaz, and feel rather disappointed that it does not work. Wearing the thunderforge armor with +1 dc, I’m at one higher than when wearing the leathers at +2. I took some screenshots to see if I have anything that it might just not be stacking with.
Thaz has a greater evocation augment. Don’t mind the outdated ring. (she also has a +6 evo stick from thunderholme that I forgot to screenshot)
Cerge was the first on my characters to get the armour he wanted from the U29 raids. After that I wasn’t too keen on running him in them, I’d only run him if the other two were on timer. Anyway, after a good long while at cap, I finally got around to eTR’ing. The 6th eTR gave Cerge his 3rd Doublestrike feat. Here are his before and after pictures.
🙂 he didn’t change much now did he? lol. He lost his fake tan and now his hair and eyebrows are dark brown instead of orange.
