It’s been 10 days since I TR’d Maidae. What have I done? Not much at all. I ran for the 150 coin lords favor, and yesterday I ran some for house K favor. I did not quite reach the 150 required to get the last bank tab, but I should get there when I run the VON raid, I believe. Next time I play her I’ll start running for xp and hopefully slowly get her to 20. Maidae is currently 1 paladin/ 6 monk/ 8 fighter bladeforged, a Cetus inspired build. I’m mostly using the default bladeforged gear for now, since some of it seemed better than what I had, and since Maidae has never been a bf before, she doesn’t own a single docent. I practiced my zerging skills last night while running VONs, by running past as much as I could, and only fighting when I had to. This would have worked a lot better if I had remembered to pick up some invisibility scrolls (not to self: buy invisibility scrolls). Alright, here’s the collection video of my VON runs yesterday. I apologize in advice for my voice being a bit weak. I was very tired, and seems like I was more mumbling than talking. Oh well. Enjoy.
I must also make some greensteel displace clickies for her. That will be the next project after flagging for shroud in a few levels.
Cerge has been doing really well. Saturday last week me and Osi did our raid marathon as per usual, and I was running Cerge for xp. We did eN CitW, eH/ eH VON, eH/ eE ADQ, elite ToD and ee Chrono… after which I hopped on Item’s Abbot runs and stayed on for two runs. On Sunday I flagged him for FoT and Cleazy joined me for that run. I felt Cerge was taking more damage than I’m used to, but he managed ok anyway. After Cleazy logged off I took level 25 and decided to see if I could manage to flag for Thunderholme raids by myself. Thunderholme wilderness is level 29, I’m a lvl 25 bardcher. Cerge did really well, I invised past most of the trash, and ran into another rare before the first flagging rare.. and killed him with a few manyshots. I found the emissary and started running around shooting at her with my bow, using manyshot. Getting crowded by trash I ran back towards the shrine to kill them off, only to realise she follows you. So some more kiting. On on my 3rd manyshot she went down and I could get my loot. It took me a while to find the other rare, but his attacks didn’t bother me much. I was able to just stand in place with blur + displacement and hit a cocoon once in a while.. and he went down.
I was pretty proud on myself for not only daring to take a lvl 25 bard into a lvl 29 wilderness, but for managing to kill the rare that I’ve been told is tough. 🙂 Cerge can do. This week I joined Luri for some ee questing and ended up back in Thunderholme wilderness. While the others were flagging, I ran into another rare that I decided to take out.
I need to figure out how to gear Cerge to get the most out of him, and his numbers are still pretty low. But he’s doing ok. I’m going to finish capping all his ED’s, level him to 28, cap his Karma again and keep him as my raider for a bit. I have not yet decided if I am going to start eTR’ing Thaz first, or TR Cerge.
That’s all from me for now. Ty for stopping by and have a great rest of the day. Cheers.
My bardcher (arcane archer bard) Cerge reached level 23 last time I played him (which is about 2 weeks ago) and with it grabbed Pinion from his TR bank. I wanted to make a gif of him shooting his bow, and here you have it folks. Click on the image below to view the animation. The first picture shows him shooting normally and the second with manyshot.
I have been playing my cleric since August 2011. Around the same time I decided to never TR, but to try and collect all favor possible. I struggled mostly with Cannith challenges, on several of them I just gave up after a few stars. Apparently all challenges are currently 6-star’able, but I just don’t want to do it. Tonight I joined Adenai for an eH run of Temple of the Deathwyrm, which was what I needed to pass 5k favor. The run itself was fine, but this raid seems to be too buggy for comfort. We took the jump route and I just gave up after trying it 20+ times, and failing. For finding the real phylactery, we just went one at a time in the same portal til we found the real one (I got lucky and had the real one)… and then the dragon got stuck in a corner and we needed a gm to help us. But we finished and Thaz got her favor. I’m also proud of my kill count, lol. Ya, I know, nothing special, but hey, I’m a first life pure cleric. Know anyone else who plays one?
I have forgotten when my sister started playing ddo. When she did I created Jarvanna as a druid to have a toon to run with her with. Since then we’ve played together about once a week (sometimes more, sometimes less), and 2 weeks ago we TR’d. I do not know how it happened, but sis created a druid similar to mine, and we were both running around in wolf form. This time I had not seen sis plan, and she not mine… and we ended up with similar toons again. The main diff being that mine will be druid split (10 druid/ 9 monk/ 1 fighter) and hers cleric split (9 cleric/ 9 monk/ 2 fighter). After doing some questing today, I wanted to get some pics of my toons for my blog, and asked sis along. Playing with the camera is always fun.
I have been wanting to get my 5k favor so I can start eTR’ing Thaz. I know, the favor should stay during eTR, but I would still like to reach it just in case something goes wrong. I have been collecting favor since August 2011 (not actively if I may add), and I’m not ready to lose it all now. Anywho, so I’ve been asking Adenai to host the new raids (cause I’m way too chicken to do it myself yet), and I’ve been trying to get him to do an eH run of both raids. The plan was to do Temple of the Deathwyrm eH, but last second it got changed to Fire on Thunder Peak eE. I may at some point have had a fear of ee raids, but now they excite me. We wait for everyone, start and pretty soon realise we don’t have the dps to deal with all the trash. Ppl start dying before the purple ellies spawned. So after a good try, we decide to do eH instead (some ppl left and got replaced). eH is going a lot better, even though we still have some deaths we get the stuff done… and then the 2nd dragon refuses to die. His hp is a zero, and he’s become immune to damage… I believe 3 ppl sent in a ticket and the 2 first got the reply “we are aware of the issue… but there is nothing we can do”. 3rd’s the charm and a gm spawned the chests for us and completed the raid for 1 person at a time.
This completion gave Thaz a bit more favor and she is now sitting on 4994. The other raid on eH will be enough.
Maidae, maidae… Maidae is a combination of two elvish words; “Mai” which means slayer/killer, and “dae” which means light. It’s pronounced “may day”. Maidae was a half elf with cleric dilettante for her two monk lives, and an elf with dragonmark for her barbarian life. Then I decided to TR into a bladeforged, and man she’s ugly. Here are the before and after (TR’d March 18)
Maidae is now 1 paladin/ 6 monk/ 8 fighter… and I forgot to eTR. 😦 I wanted to TR, spent some time cleaning TR cache, then TR’d without eTR’ng, even though I have both the Karma and the heart, and had her sitting capped at 28. Well, I guess I can do some eTR’s before the next TR then.
Lately the word “awesome” has popped up in my head quite often concerning some players. The awesome players are the ones I admire and wish I was more like. I am constantly working on it, but over and over fail because of my own insecurities. Now, I guess I should explain what kind of players I mean? I meet them every so often, and I start looking for their lfm after running with them once. The “awesome” players are the ones who are calm and confident. Who never pick on others, or yell at them when things go wrong. The person who leads others to victory, but doesn’t care if things aren’t super smooth every time.
These players inspire confidence in others and in them for just being good at what they do without having to push others down. They can be min-maxers or just your average casual player but what they have in common is their calm ways and self-confidence. The other side is the lack of care about what others say and think. I wish I was more like that.
Seems like I have been posting a lot of build plans lately, lol. Come to think of it, I may just create a new page for my builds, for easier access. Maidae is the second toon I levelled, and she started out as a dex based ninja spy dark monk. On her first life I made her some Harry beaters, ran elite shroud once, and TR’d into a str based shintao monk. I did not like her as much as shintao, I missed the dark monk strikes more than I enjoyed jading. Still I capped her at 25, leveled primal avatar and tested out PA epic moment for a while. When tree form was fixed with U19, I really didn’t want to play this toon anymore, and TR’d into an evasion barbarian.
Maidae has now been capped at 28 with all ED’s capped as well, and I’m tired of her. The plan is to go back to monk for her final life, but I’d like to do a few fighter lives first (and one more monk), so I wish to TR into a fighter next week. I asked on the ddo forums for some ideas as what to do (see Gimme some build ideas?) and the recommendation was the Cetus build (which seems to be pretty popular). I didn’t really want to do Cetus, but after making eSOS for Maidae last week, I decided that I want to use eSOS next life, and a bf Cetus means I get to start at 15. I did the build on the planner, following Cetus’s advice a bit, just adjusting the ability points to my used tomes. I posted it on the forums, no one commented, so I guess I’ll go with this:
