Rethinking my enhancements – Thazara

So, I just replanned Thazara’s enhancements with the Character Planner. Here’s what I came up with (in the order the Planner prints them):

Enhancement: Cleric Divine Intervention
Enhancement: Cleric Radiant Servant I
Enhancement: Cleric Radiant Servant II
Enhancement: Valenar Elf Melee Damage I
Enhancement: Valenar Elf Melee Damage II
Enhancement: Follower of the Undying Court
Enhancement: Racial Toughness I
Enhancement: Racial Toughness II
Enhancement: Improved Heal I
Enhancement: Improved Heal II
Enhancement: Cleric Prayer of Smiting I
Enhancement: Cleric Prayer of Smiting II
Enhancement: Cleric Prayer of Smiting III
Enhancement: Cleric Prayer of Life I
Enhancement: Cleric Prayer of Incredible Smiting I
Enhancement: Cleric Prayer of Incredible Smiting II
Enhancement: Cleric Prayer of Incredible Smiting III
Enhancement: Cleric Prayer of Incredible Life I
Enhancement: Cleric Smiting I
Enhancement: Cleric Smiting II
Enhancement: Cleric Smiting III
Enhancement: Cleric Smiting IV
Enhancement: Cleric Life Magic I
Enhancement: Cleric Life Magic II
Enhancement: Cleric Life Magic III
Enhancement: Cleric Life Magic IV
Enhancement: Cleric Charisma I
Enhancement: Cleric Charisma II
Enhancement: Cleric Wisdom I
Enhancement: Cleric Wisdom II
Enhancement: Cleric Divine Healing I
Enhancement: Cleric Extra Turning I
Enhancement: Cleric Improved Turning I
Enhancement: Cleric Wand and Scroll Mastery I
Enhancement: Cleric Wand and Scroll Mastery II
Enhancement: Cleric Wand and Scroll Mastery III
Enhancement: Cleric Wand and Scroll Mastery IV

For Radiant Servant 1 I got Improved Heal II, Cleric Life Magic II, Cleric Divine Healing I (if I had had higher charisma, I would have picked divine might instead) and Cleric Improved Turning I (note: the feat Empower Heal Spell is a prereq as well).
For Radiant Servant 2 I got Cleric Prayer of Incredible Life I, Cleric Prayer of Life I and Cleric Charisma II

I got Follower of the Undying Court for proficiency in scimitars and Valenar Elf Melee Damage I-II to boost her melee damage with scimitars and falcons.

Smiting adds spell power to light and alignment based spells, life magic to healing and negative spells. I maxed those out. Prayer of Life and Prayer of Incredible Life adds chance to crit and crit multiplier to healing and negative spells, but I preferred to only take what’s needed for RSII and max out Prayer of Smiting and Prayer of Incredible Smiting instead to add crit chance and multiplier to light and alignment based spells.

I took extra turning 1 as a filler, but Thazara needs all the turns she can get.

I am quite pleased with this plan 🙂 When I change main melee weapon to something else than a scimitar, I should redo the enhancements accordingly. I wonder, though, I took melee damage over melee attack. Would there have been any point in taking melee attack instead?

For anyone wondering, Thazara is an elf, she is caster, healer and melee. Caster and healer before melee, but she still melees quite well, and uses it to save mana. Quite often I use mana for heals and DoT’s in boss fights, and melee trash.

Alright. Ty for reading. TC

P.S. I’m not looking for criticism or advice. 🙂 I’m just posting the enhancement list I see fit my needs, and I wish to show new cleric players how you can do the enhancements.

  1. Do you often miss?

If no, then probably not that much point in taking melee attack.

    If yes, then probably a good idea to take melee attack 8-}

Just keep an eye on your die rolls, figure out what you’re missing on, and whether you’re OK with it or not. Extra damage doesn’t do much good if you’re only hitting half the time, or three quarters.

I figure if I swing 20 times, and I hit 16 of them with +2 damage… that if I hit 17 times for +1 damage, I’m probably doing more damage overall, between weapon damage and STR bonus and weapon procs. Of course, I’m doing this as pure melee with probably at least 2d6 bonus damage from, say, Screaming of PG (becomes even moreso if using, say, Holy of Disruption or something). Might be different from the POV of a cleric (even a melee cleric) who likely has different priorities for weapon enhancements lol

You may also find it worthwhile to take Damage I and Attack I, and free up a point or two for something else.

  2. 🙂 I don’t remember missing much unless the opponent is bouncing around or is running after someone who’s running away.

Thazara’s str is base 14, +2 tome, +6 item, +2 ship. Then add divine favor, divine power, prayer.

Her main melee weapon is the Epic Brigand’s Cutlass tier 2. I’m thinking of making a gs longsword for her, probably keen/maiming + acid? But before that I’ll make a hp cloak. So some time in the future.
